If your equipment has been hit with expensive downtime job after job, it may be time to do something about it. Machine monitoring software helps contractors maximize equipment uptime and extend the useful life of their machinery.
What is Machine Monitoring?
John Deere machine monitoring uses a dual approach to maximize your equipment uptime. Here’s how it works. Your John Deere equipment will speak (in a sense) via diagnostic codes that get sent to your equipment dealership and to the John Deere Machine Monitoring Center. Our local expert machine monitoring specialists will work on your behalf, remotely diagnosing any issues with your machinery and notifying you of potential critical issues, before they become critical issues. Often fixes can be made remotely with software updates, but when they can’t be, we can send out a repair technician to your jobsite with the part you need, saving valuable time.
The Big Picture
“The goal is to stay on top of routine maintenance and proactively get ahead of small issues before they become larger ones,” says Ryan Swift, Telematics Support Supervisor for Papé Machinery.
John Deere machine monitoring analyzes the diagnostic information for thousands of connected machines to develop improved preventative maintenance and repair protocols. Important trends are spotted and analyzed to further improve the lifespan of your equipment and develop newer and better models.
What Type of Equipment Should Be Using Machine Monitoring?
As a rule of thumb, excavators 130 and up, wheel loaders 444 and up, and all crawler tractors come equipped with JDLink from the factory. Large frame G-Series skid steers come equipped with JDLink from the factory, but all other Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) does not. If your machine has connectivity, you should be taking advantage of the data to improve your uptime, regardless of the size of your operation. Machines ordered with JDLink come with 5 years of subscription in-base.
